The anticipation around 5G has steadily grown over the past couple of years and it is now headline news all around the world. If harnessed correctly, 5G can be a catalyst for innovation and a technology that has the potential to transform industries across every sector of the economy - it can truly be a game-changer. With the expectations of 5G now so high, and with commercial rollout expected to begin in 2019, the time has come for 5G to deliver.
Focusing on the emerging 5G eco-system and the building blocks that are being put in place, the 6th Annual 5G Huddle looked in detail at the truth behind this vision of 5G. As the dream becomes a reality, it addressed the key question – Can 5G keep its promises? This time, the conference was held in Tokyo, Japan on 14 May 2019, followed by the 42nd WWRF Meeting (WWRF42) on 15 & 16 May 2019.

About the 5G Huddle
The 5G Huddle is hosted annually by the Wireless World Research Forum (WWRF). Since its inception in 2014, it has brought key 5G stakeholders together in various locations across the globe including the United Kingdom, Europe, Canada, South Africa - and soon to include Japan - with each edition addressing the next step of the 5G 'journey'. Discussions around ‘What is 5G?’; the development of the 5G ecosystem and infrastructure; making the 5G vision a reality; the transition from 4G to 5G; and how to deliver ‘5G For All’ have all pathed the way to this year's focus on whether 5G can now deliver on its promises.
