Summary

For the 4th consecutive year, The Sub-Sahara Spectrum Management Conference provided a meeting place for the region's most influential spectrum policymakers and thought leaders.

The conference took place alongside two other other key meetings for the Sub-Sahara region - an ITU Capacity Building Workshop on cross border frequency co-ordination and the PRIDA Initiative Launch Event.

What will I gain from attending the event?

• Be part of top level discussions, involving more than 250 of the most respected spectrum policymakers, industry experts and thought leaders in the region;
  
  
• Hear an update on the key agenda items for WRC-19 from those people directly responsible for its preparation;
  
  
• Discuss best practices in developing national roadmaps for spectrum release, and look at what can be done to accelerate deployment of spectrum allocated to IMT;

• Hear a unique ‘360 degree case study’ of the recent 700MHz spectrum award in Tanzania, with perspectives from key stakeholders who were involved;
  
  
• Look at the recent plans in South Africa and Nigeria to encourage spectrum liberalisation and explore whether a more open marketplace can help deliver a more efficient spectrum landscape;
  
  
• Learn about the progress that has been made in delivering co-ordinated, reliable and efficient PPDR networks across the region;
  
  
• Take advantage of more than 8 hours of dedicated networking time.
