Overview
We are disappointed to announce that, due to a conflicting European Commission event announced to take place the same day as this conference, Diversity in Tech has been postponed until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Announcing Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society as Opening Keynote Speaker
"Europe's education and training systems need to give people from all backgrounds the right competences to progress and prosper professionally, but also enable them to be engaged citizens. We need to harness the potential of education to foster social cohesion and a sense of belonging.” - Within the context of the European Commission's recently launched Digital Education Action Plan in January 2018
Challenging biases and stereotypes, reinventing corporate culture and developing education programmes to fill the skills & knowledge gap to inspire the next generation - including young girls - to study ITC and STEM subjects are all up for discussion.
Participants will debate the role of the tech industry and employers in harnessing the diverse tech talent and in creating the right conditions to encourage people from as broad a demographic as possible to enter and thrive in the tech sector.
Finally, the event will examine the state of diversity and inclusion in the digital ecosystem on a global level and discuss what remains to be done to ensure that the tech world attracts and retains the talent it needs.
Speakers include
Senior Fellow & Deputy Director, Brussels Office
The German Marshall Fund of the United States
