Summary

ESOA, with the support of the European Commission, has created a new online tool (available now at www.broadbandforall.eu) that will enable citizens to find a local distributor who can supply them with immediate internet connectivity no matter where they live, delivered through satellite technology.

On October 17th, the tool was launched at the European Parliament by Neelie Kroes, Vice President and Commissioner for Digital Agenda, alongside a debate on the issue of Broadband for All between leading European policy-makers and industry representatives.

More Information

In addition to finding out more about the web tool and having the chance to try it out first hand, participants at the event had the opportunity to hear from top level speakers on the next steps as we move towards 100% coverage, and participate in an interactive debate.

The Digital Agenda for Europe (DAE), a flagship initiative of Europe 2020, calls for broadband Internet to be available across the European Union by 2013. Satellite broadband can reach isolated users no matter where they are located and the European Satellite Operators Association (ESOA) is happy to announce that satellite broadband solutions are now available in every Member State of the Union.
