Global Spectrum Series 2014

Spectrum Auctions & Valuation Workshops

   Workshop Co-ordinators

In addition to the main conference, all delegates that attend this event have the option of attending two full-day event workshops, taking place on the day before and the day after the main conference:

Workshop 1 (16 June) - Spectrum Valuation and Auction Theory

Workshop 2 (19 June) - Live Simulation of a Spectrum Auction

The workshops have been strategically planned to give a comprehensive and detailed overview of the theory and practical aspects relating to spectrum valuation and auctions, and taken together, provide an in depth masterclass covering all aspects of these hugely important issues.

Special offer - attend both workshops for just €650 (a saving of €340 off the normal price!)

Workshop 1 (16 June) - Spectrum Valuation and Auction Theory

Coordinated by Coleago Consulting, this one day workshop comprises two sessions. The morning session will provide a practical, step-by-step guide to valuing spectrum for spectrum auctions, spectrum renewal or in negotiating Administered Incentive Pricing.  This session will also include a discussion of the practical implications of network sharing and its impact on spectrum valuation. The afternoon will explore the issues and challenges associated with auction design and developing auction bidding strategy and will also include a mock spectrum valuation exercise.

Workshop 2 (19 June) - Live Simulation of a Spectrum Auction

Coordinated with Specure by Alladin IT, the post-conference workshop will follow on from the theoretical issues relating to spectrum auction discussed in workshop 1, and provide delegates with an opportunity to now put this into practice by taking part in auction scenarios as representatives of a telecommunications operator. Participants will compete with each other, which will provide insight into the philosophy, strategy and specifics of both SMRA and CCA auction formats.
