Summary
The 5th annual summit of Fit for Work Europe, took place in Brussels on the 16th of October 2013 and with some 200 delegates attending throughout the day it was widely agreed that this 5th summit was one of the most successful additions yet.
This event was a key moment to debate how we can use more innovative budget pathways to deliver better healthcare and support economic growth.
Joined by key policy makers at the EU and national level as well as healthcare professionals, patients, academics, economists and other key stakeholders, concrete examples of the benefits of joined-up budgeting were reviewed and how these new pathways can be implemented in other countries was explored.
The Fit for Work’s 2013 Summit, “Investing in Healthcare: Breaking down the Silos”, was endorsed by the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, supported by the European Economic and Social Committee and co-chaired by Dr Antonyia Parvanova MEP & Gianni Pittella, Vice-President, EP.
