WWRF’s goal is to encourage research that will achieve unbounded communications to address key societal challenges for the future.


We are using the term “Wireless World” in this broad sense to address


- the support of innovation and business,


- social inclusion and


- infrastructural challenges


This will be achieved by creating a range of new technological capabilities from wide-area networks to short-range communications, machine-to-machine communications, sensor networks, wireless broadband access technologies and optical networking, along with increasing intelligence and virtualization in networks


This will support a dependable future Internet of people, knowledge and things and the development of a service universe.

The GSMA represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide. Spanning more than 220 countries, the GSMA unites nearly 800 of the world’s mobile operators with 250 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem, including handset and device makers, software companies, equipment providers and Internet companies, as well as organisations in industry sectors such as financial services, healthcare, media, transport and utilities. 5G Innovation Centre and The Institute for Communication Systems

The Institute for Communication Systems (formerly the Centre for Communication Systems Research, CCSR) is the UK's largest academic research centre in Mobile and Satellite Communication Systems. 
Established for over ten years as one of a number of autonomous research centres at the University of Surrey, it now houses some 160 researchers including over 90 undertaking a PhD, post doctoral researchers and academic staff.
