Club Penguin

Club Penguin

Disney’s Club Penguin is a snow-capped virtual island which allows children to let their imaginations run free by exploring the island via their penguin characters, playing games, adopting pet Puffles, decorating their igloo homes and chatting with friends. Created seven years ago by three dads looking for a safe online place where their children could have fun, Club Penguin today has over 175 million players worldwide and is the largest virtual world for kids aged 6 to 12 in Europe and around the world.
Over the last seven years, Club Penguin has built an unrivalled global reputation as a safe and secure online environment that provides fun for kids and peace of mind for parents, with its imaginative play environment, word filtering technology and live moderation. Club Penguin works to maintain a fun and safe online entertainment experience by using sophisticated filtering technology and over 200 live moderators worldwide. It is free to use and enjoy; however a subscription membership provides access to additional features that enhance the play experience.

The European NGO Alliance for Child Safety Online is a network of 25 children’s rights NGOs from across the EU working for a safer online environment for children.

Our Mission, based on 1989 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), is to promote and support actions at national, European and international level, to protect children and promote their rights in relation to new technologies.

eNACSO provides a valuable pool of online child protection NGOs from different European countries and forges joint strategies for change. The network promotes its recommendations to national, European and international decision-makers and other relevant stakeholders.

eNACSO is co-funded by the European Commission’s Safer Internet Programme.
