Hosts

Seldia

Seldia www.seldia.eu

Seldia – The European Direct Selling Association is a non for profit organisation based in Brussels.  It represents the direct selling industry in Europe for more than 40 years.  Its members are 27 European, national, Direct Selling Associations (DSAs) and 14 Corporate Members. Through its member DSAs and Corporate Members, Seldia represents over 500 direct selling companies with annual sales in excess of 15 billion Euro and over 11 million, independent, direct sellers working with those businesses.

Direct selling is a method of marketing and retailing goods and services directly to the consumers, in their homes or in any other location away from permanent retail premises.

Direct selling provides virtually unlimited self-employment opportunities and has no discrimination with regard to gender, age, ethnicity or disability. Direct selling is a nursery for entrepreneurs and a significant number of those who have created substantial businesses in other trade sectors gained their first business experience with a direct selling company.

Seldia’s aims and activities are fully transparent. It is registered in the European Commission ‘Register of interest representatives’  and committed to the code of conduct for interest representatives.

EMOTA

EMOTA www.emota.eu

EMOTA, the European Multi-channel and Online Trade Association, is the umbrella organisation of at present 23 national associations representing the interests of e-retailers and multi-channel distance sellers.

EMOTA members’ associate companies offer a competitve range of goods and services including clothing, books, consumer electronics, cosmetics, furniture, gardening articles and wines. As early adopters of online technology, they have seen their internet operations make impressive progress over the past few years. In some European markets the internet is already, by some distance, the dominant channel.

EMOTA listens to opinions and ideas of its members, European lawmakers, business leaders and consumers, and builds consensus by combining the best of what distance sellers need to remain successful and what their costumers need to be satisfied.
