Context

The Internet has grown to become central to the global economic system and the platforms, channels and media which have emerged and that facilitate trade and retail activities online have delivered greater consumer choice, contributed to job creation and have allowed individuals, SMEs and large multinationals to create and innovate in new ways.

It is estimated that online retail will grow from €68 billion in 2009 to €114 billion by 2014, however the rise of e-commerce in the EU continues to be stifled by a range of cultural, geographical and political dimensions that require action in the short-term if the long-term benefits are to be realised.

The conference will focus on the most pertinent issues for the e-Commerce industry including consumer trust, e-payment solutions, the logistics behind e-business, multi-channel sales, digital content and m-commerce. Key speakers will include representatives from the European Commission, EU Parliament, innovative European e-commerce players and providers to the e-Commerce sector.

This conference is hosted by The European Digital Media Association (EDiMA) and The European E-Commerce and Mail Order Trade Association (EMOTA). It is organised by Forum Europe.
