Summary

Artificial Intelligence innovation is just beginning. Shaping the European and global public policy approach to AI will be central to the impact AI can have on the many social and economic challenges Europe (and indeed the international community generally), faces.

AI 2018 is timed following a period of reflection on the European Commission's AI Initiative, and will demonstrate AI's deployment, both current and potential, while drawing on both European and international policy perspectives.

The 4 central themes that will permeate the day are:

- Access to data to improve machine and deep learning
- R&D, open development and the cooperation between industry and government
- Ethical design and implementation
- Employment and welfare

This event will look at how AI is being deployed across sectors and industries, to bring to life its applications and where it can have real impact. Discussions will be animated via panel debates, in conversation interviews, tech-talks and keynotes.
